Greg Stone
After attending Community College in Rochester, NY for two years, Captain Stone decided he wanted to work in law enforcement. In 1985, he moved from New York to Chester County PA to attend the Delaware County Community College Police Academy and graduated from there in December.
In May of 1986 he was hired by the West Goshen Township Police Department as a fulltime officer and worked in the patrol division until 1997 when he became a detective. In 2001 Captain Stone was promoted to Sergeant and held the title of Detective Sergeant until he returned to the patrol division as a Platoon Sergeant. Working with the Detectives Unit had always been his passion though, so in 2006 he returned to the Detectives Unit as their Sergeant.
On February 10, 2010 Captain Stone was promoted to Lieutenant and then Captain in 2013.
During his career he has continued to grow academically. He has graduated from the FBI National Academy, the prestigious Executive Command and Leadership Academy, and has attended numerous management level trainings such as; Police Supervisory In-Service Training (POSIT) and Police Executive Development (POLEX).
In addition to being on the Executive Board of the Chester County Chiefs of Police Association, Captain Stone holds the position of Commander for the West Chester Regional Emergency Response Team.
In his spare time, he enjoys golf, exercising, and his summer home in Pawley’s Island, SC. He and his wife Betty have two married sons and three wonderful grandchildren.
